In the whole world, there are more than 200 breeds of owls. They are located in the whole world except Antarctica. An owl is a bird which can see blue. Owls eat one thousand rats in a year. According to some people if owls want, they can easily vanish the name of rats on the earth.

The owl has the ability to move its neck around 270 degrees. They can rotate their neck 130 degrees on both sides. It means if you are at the backside of an owl yet an owl can watch you without moving its whole body just by moving its heads only.

The amazing fact about owls is that they can easily take the 3D image of any object means to say after looking over any object owl has the ability to imagine the length, width and height of that object.

Fact 2:

Owls have the ability to hear the faint sounds that even humans cannot hear. In comparison with humans owls can hear the faint sounds that are 10 times slower than the human faint sounds. They also can move their ears to hear all sounds around them.

At night they do not hunt after looking at them, they hunt just by hearing the sounds. Owls sleep during the day and awake at night. The eyes of the owls are as large as their brains. In food, owls like to eat fishes, snakes, rats, and other owls. They can stay alive for 30 years and they have no teeth in their mouth. They eat a meal without chewing it. It is not legal to hunt owls in Pakistan.

Fact 3:

Owls cannot produce sounds while flying. Because the upper portion of their wings looks like a plain porous surface, which absorbs all the sounds. Even owls can allow air to pass through their wings. When air doesn’t strike with their wings then how can sound be produced?

In the whole world, the owls are so expensive that’s why people hunt owls and then use them for the formation of a number of medicines. The size of both ears of the owl are not the same. If the one ear is larger than the other one will be smaller in size. They never make nests for eggs. They use the nest of other birds.

Fact 4:

90% owls change their nest for one time in a year but the remaining 10% owls change their nests for two times in one year. Normally, it has been observed that owls never use a single nest for twice. They take

off 1 to 13 eggs depending on breed type and weather conditions. But mostly it is noted that owls take off 3 to 4 eggs.

After 6 weeks of their birth they open their eyes. In this duration they are in the safety of their parents. After 7 to 8 weeks of their birth they can fly.

Fact 5:

In Pakistan if you call someone owl it means you are calling him a fool. In Africa the owl is considered for black magic and for bad luck. The people also say something else about owls but that is not correct. The name of the owl is also included in the list of a clever and beautiful bird. People use the head of the owl for black magic. We should not do this, for self-advantage we have not to kill birds or animals.
